I like hockey & coasters, but what I like more is hockey Jerseys and owning merchandise that wont get me shoved in a locker. Lets face it, 90% of ride specific merchandise looks terrible. Overcomplicated designs cluttered with taglines and statistics, it looks more like PowerPoint slide from someone who just discovered word art for the first time. sports logos however are perfect, they are simplistic, display what they are about and look good on merch. So why not take that ideology and use it to come up with unique logos for different rides.

All works shown are Work in progress builds and sketches. I dont get much time to work on this outside of Work, school and engineering projects but I am trying my best to work on them as much as possible

Expedition Everest Yeti Head logo

this is what got me to start working on the project, while at animal kingdom one of my friends was scouring for any Expedition Everest shirts that were not absolutely terrible. unfortunately we could not find anything but fortunately I know how to use illustrator. I got the same friend for secret Santa and decided to make a shirt for him to use it as an excuse to get this project off the ground. I was under a time crunch so I had to cut corners to get it finished on time but I’m happy with this work in progress result. I’m working On cleaning things up and adjusting the logo so that it can be released publicly, with the ultimate goal for it to be stitched on to a real jersey, possibly even use it as my real Hockey teams logo

This Project is just getting off the ground so I dont have many “finished” looking logos. This section is here to show my progress and prosses, I will be updating this semi-regularly as I work on it

Steel Vengeance ‘Chess’ Hockey jersy logo

  • First draft Pencil Sketch

    I started sketching this as a Cowboy at first but thought it would be cool to switch it to a cow girl. I could not think of any sports major male team that has a female icon and I thought that should change. then i thought it would be the perfect fit for ‘Chess’ To be the main logo

    I will sketch then redefine then sketch again until I find something that feels like the image in my head. this shows how I want to redefine the hair and eyes from my first sketch

    Alternate logo Sketch

    No jersey is complete without an alternate logo! usually this are simpler and reserved for the shoulder patches of uniforms. this logo plays off the lightning bolt motif of the original Mean streak logo.

  • Second rough draft

    I dont know about you, but I am not great at drawing hats, and COWBOY HATS! Forget about it. Things are looking better but I still need to make major adjustments. The next step is to change focus to work primarily on the logo monochrome before adding any additional color details

    This took me a while to get a better idea of the direction I wanted to head in. its still not entirely how I want the logo to feel. I need to still do a bit of rework and then start on details
